Wreck of the St. Nikolaj (2)

26 September 1830
Excerpt from the annual report of the Feodosiia city overseer

A Russian cabotage vessel called the St. Nikolaj (St. Nicholas) was returning from Burgas. Off the coast of Evpatoriia, between Ojburgshil and Belousant kordons, strong waves cast the ship on shore. It belonged to a Don Cossack named Grigory Makreshchkij. All souls were saved.
