Ural'sk
Note: Located on the Ural River, this is the most important place for the Ural Cossacks. From Gur'ev Town at the mouth of the Ural, up the course of the river to Troitsk, runs the Orenburg fortified line. This consists of numerous fortresses and foreposts for the defense of the Russia against raids by the nomadic peoples of Central Asia. The strongest fortresses are Orenburg, Orsk, Ozernaia, Krasnogorsk, and Verkhoural'sk.
