Riga [Joe, 1710]
I hope you enjoy the city of Riga.
Supposedly founded in 1201, by the German Bishop Albert. Archaeological evidence suggest a much longer continued inhabitance. Between Russians, Germans, and Latvians, (to name a few!) the city is known for its multiethnic history. However, by 1710, Russian Imperial forces during the Great Northern War had captured the city, beginning a two century-long rule.
