Seeking an English-speaking doctor? In St. Petersburg you could choose between Dr. Webb (at the Alexander Hospital on Vasilii (Vasilievskii) Island), or Dr. Baron Sternberg on Angliiskii Prospekt.

Unless you happened to be female. In that case, you required the services of Dr. Gersoni on Fifth Rozhdestvenskaya, or the practitioners at the Protestant Hospital on Ligovskaya.

Curious about cost? A voluntary contribution of 25 rubles was expected in return for a week-long stay in a private room.
