I take inspiration from Freedom for Immigrants' storytelling platform and other organizations that give space for people to have agency and control over their stories. They further the idea that the practice of sharing personal narratives is a powerful way to amplify a message. It brings both speaker and reader into conversation and deserves the same merit given to academic texts.
