Looking Forward: Suggestions for the HPR

In “Student-run Magazine: A Collective Endeavor,” we learn about the ways that the HPR has been meaningful to members’ personal and professional development, as well as identifying areas where the magazine could make the staff writer experience more meaningful or better serve the undergraduate popuolation at large. Unsurprisingly, their perceptions were influenced by their own experiences with the magazine, including the comp and their previous and current roles. On this page, I highlight common shortcomings that my interviewees identified, recommendations, and descriptions of intiatives that are already under way to address those issues. Although there was considerable overlap in the responses, people put different degrees of emphasis on each shortcoming based on what they perceived as the magazine’s purpose and what members can expect to get out of their involvement.
