I think that the sentiments expressed by May are particularly useful when considering the end of life from an atheistic perspective. I find the section about enjoying the present to be the most helpful. While the beginning of the article is not necessarily relevant, the remainder of the article after "Yancy: So, as an atheist, how do you deal with the fact that you will die, as we all will, at some point?" could be helpful to those without religion struggling with the concept of death.
