Resources for Loss

13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do by Amy Morin and To the Roaring Wind by Wallace Stevens, contributed by Keely Moy (2019)

For my contribution, I really liked the book 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do by Amy Morin. The author had just recently been through some major losses in her life, and talks about all the things that we can actually control in this life of ours.

More briefly, I'll share a poem I recently came across by Wallace Stevens. I found it comforting because I myself tend to overcomplicate things, and find myself at a loss for words because of all of the thoughts going on in my own head. This poem simplifies things and reminds me that we all can speak and have the ability to find peace if we just start somewhere.

To the Roaring Wind by Wallace Stevens

"What syllable are you seeking,
Vocalissimus,
In the distances of sleep?
Speak it."
